There is a Occupational Therapy Course given by the Gemelli Polyclinic Catholic Hospital of Rome at Moncrivello, Vercelli. This is a three-year university course that began in 2005 in Piemonte, Northern Italy.

Students focus on the prevention, cure and rehabilitation of patients with physical or psychological disorders. Problems may be temporary or permanent. There are a variety of activities dealing with everyday life. Patients come from all ages and work can be done in groups or individually. The aim is to insert patients into society and in their families, giving them an active role according to their needs.

The Occupational Therapist can work in private hospitals, public hospitals or in the private sector.
