Silence – This is a fundamental part of our lives so that we can hear God’s voice in our hearts and totally dedicate ourselves to the Apostolate.

Cross – United with the Blessed Virgin, we are close to the suffering living a new dimension in the light of the Resurrection. We see the great possibilities that the diversely able and sick  have to become active members of the Church and society showing love for their brothers and sisters.

Goals – We see the Cross carried together with the diversely able and the sick as the path to salvation.  It is a focal point for pastoral work and rehabilitation.

The “Silent Workers of the Cross” were founded by Blessed Luigi Novarese and Sister Elvira Myriam Psorulla in 1950.  They are composed of  both  clergy and lay members following the teachings of the Catholic Church.   Its headquarters are in Ariano Irpino (Avellino), Southern Italy, at the “Salus infirmorum” Sanctuary.

The Silent Workers of the Cross practice the Evangelical vows and follow the requests of the Blessed Virgin at Lourdes and Fatima.  “They totally dedicate their lives to redemption through the Cross.”  “The Silent Workers of the Cross follow Christ in all thoughts, words, actions through an inner silence. (Hosea 2, 14). . . .God is the most important part of their lives and becomes a role model following the Cross in humility and obedience as Christ did.”  (Philippians  2, 5-11)
